A journey to Vienna from Barcelona with everything taken care of: direct flight, transfers, specialist guide, all entrance fees and three lunches included at unique venues. Six days designed to experience Vienna with depth, elegance and emotion, leaving nothing to chance.

The accommodation is part of the experience itself. The Grand Hotel Wien ***** is an institution of Viennese hospitality: inaugurated in 1870 as the city's first grand hotel, it welcomes its guests with the timeless elegance of a place that has witnessed history unfold — including Johann Strauss, who celebrated his 50th anniversary here in 1894.

An organised trip to Vienna built with discernment and coherence, with small groups and a specialist guide who knows the city in depth. Every visit has a guiding thread; every day unfolds with purpose. This is not an itinerary of attractions: it is a narrative.

Vienna holds experiences that few European capitals can offer: contemplating Klimt's The Kiss at the Belvedere, attending a performance by the Lipizaner horses in the Baroque riding hall of the Hofburg, sailing along the Danube between vineyards and medieval abbeys, discovering the Beethoven Frieze at the Secession. To travel to Vienna in April is to experience it in its full spring splendour, with the light and the pace it deserves.

The Ringstrasse, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Karlskirche... Vienna is also a city to be explored on foot, discovered slowly, savoured in its historic coffeehouses over a Kaffee und Kuchen, and in its lively markets. This itinerary has been designed to leave room for that more intimate, everyday Vienna as well.

And as always with Tempodart, the journey closes with a glance towards the more contemporary: the Klimt Villa, the Wagner Villa and the Secession Building will remind us that Vienna was, at the end of the nineteenth century, one of Europe's great cultural laboratories. A city that knew how to reinvent itself then, and continues to do so today.

Itinerary

Six days of culture travel to Vienna with a clear guiding thread: art, architecture and imperial history as the protagonists. Each day is thoughtfully designed to unfold with purpose, from the first stroll along the Ringstrasse to the final free hours in a city that never ceases to surprise.

Day 1. Thursday 08/04 – Arrival in Vienna

The journey to Vienna from Barcelona begins at El Prat Airport, where we depart on the direct Vueling flight VY8714 at 11:35, with an expected arrival in Vienna at 14:05. Our guide Gabriela Jemelka, who will accompany us throughout the six days of the trip, will be waiting for us there, along with the coach that will transfer us to the Grand Hotel Wien*****.
In the afternoon we begin our first encounter with the city through a carefully planned introductory walk, designed to help us find our bearings in the history, atmosphere and elegance of Vienna. We stroll along stretches of the Ringstrasse, the great monumental boulevard encircling the historic centre, passing by the Opera House and several of the most iconic buildings of this extraordinary showcase of imperial splendour.
During this first tour we will also discover one of the city's most singular architectural surprises: the Hundertwasserhaus, which reveals from the very first moment Vienna's taste for playfulness, irony and imagination.
Free time and dinner at your own expense: a first opportunity to begin savouring Vienna at your own pace.
Day 1. Thursday 08/04 – Arrival in Vienna

Day 2. Friday 09/04 – Imperial Vienna and the Belvedere

First thing in the morning we head to the historic heart of the city for our grand tour of imperial Vienna. We begin at the Hofburg Palace, former residence of the Habsburgs and the true centre of power for centuries. We visit the magnificent imperial apartments, the Sisi Museum (dedicated to Empress Elisabeth, a figure as charismatic as she was contradictory, and a symbol of both the elegance and the shadows of the Viennese court) and the imposing National Library, with its grandiose baroque hall crowned by frescoes, statues and monumental bookshelves: a true stage set of knowledge and imperial power.
We continue to St. Stephen's Cathedral, the city's spiritual and architectural emblem, whose Gothic silhouette has dominated Vienna's skyline for centuries and whose walls have witnessed coronations, funerals and great moments in its history.
Before reaching the Belvedere, we stop at the Karlskirche, the Church of St. Charles Borromeo, one of the great jewels of Viennese Baroque. Its monumental dome, classical portico and columns inspired by Antiquity make this church a powerful expression of faith and imperial grandeur.
Afterwards, lunch at a celebrated historic brewery near the palace. In the afternoon we visit the Upper and Lower Belvedere, one of the most important museum complexes in Austria. Its galleries hold one of the country's most extraordinary collections: fin-de-siècle Viennese art with a special focus on Gustav Klimt, including his celebrated The Kiss, alongside works by Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka and other great names of Central European modernism.
We also visit the exhibition dedicated to Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, one of the great masters of Austrian Biedermeier, whose painting stands out for its portraits, everyday scenes and luminous landscapes imbued with a serene humanity.
Return to the hotel. Free evening and dinner at leisure.
Day 2. Friday 09/04 – Imperial Vienna and the Belvedere

Day 3. Saturday 10/04 – Vienna Art Nouveau and Schönbrunn

Today's programme is dedicated to discovering the Vienna that, between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, became one of Europe's great cultural laboratories.
In the morning we set out for the Klimt Villa, the artist's residence and final studio. This unassuming house, almost withdrawn from the world, still preserves the intimate atmosphere in which Klimt spent his last years and gave shape to some of his final works. To walk through it is to glimpse not only his painting, but also the silence and concentration of one of the great masters of Viennese modernism.
We then move on to Otto Wagner's Villa in Hütteldorf, today enriched by the mural paintings of Ernst Fuchs. Wagner was instrumental in the transition from historicist Vienna to modern Vienna: his thinking opened the way to a new architecture: clear, functional and deeply attuned to the spirit of its time.
After these visits, we make our way to Schönbrunn Palace, the great summer residence of the Habsburgs. We tour its magnificent interiors, steeped in history, ceremony and court life, moving through the spaces where imperial power was staged for centuries. Lunch in the surroundings of the palace.
In the afternoon, the day's final visit: the Secession Building, with its unmistakable golden dome of laurel leaves, a symbol of the desire to break with academic art. Inside, we discover Klimt's celebrated Beethoven Frieze, a monumental work in which painting, music and symbolic thought merge into a unique experience. Here, more than almost anywhere else, the aspiration of an entire generation crystallises: to create a new, free and total art.
Return to the hotel. Free evening and dinner at leisure.
Day 3. Saturday 10/04 – Vienna Art Nouveau and Schönbrunn

Day 4. Sunday 11/04 – The Danube Valley in the Wachau

We set off early towards one of Austria's most beautiful cultural landscapes: the Danube Valley in the Wachau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A territory where the great European river winds between gentle hills, terraced vineyards and historic villages where time seems to flow more slowly.
Our first stop is Dürnstein, one of the most picturesque villages in the valley. Dominated by its unmistakable blue Baroque tower and surrounded by vineyards, it is a place where nature and history blend in perfect harmony. We stroll through its streets and take in the views of the Danube before boarding the river cruise: one of the most beautiful and relaxing experiences of the trip, sailing between vine-covered hills, medieval ruins and small historic settlements.
Upon arriving in Melk, we have lunch at a local restaurant before visiting two of the region's great monuments. Melk Abbey, an imposing Benedictine monastery rising above the Danube like a true spiritual acropolis, with spectacular architecture, richly decorated halls and a library that is a work of art in its own right. And Aggstein Castle, a powerful ruined medieval fortress commanding the valley from the top of a rocky spur, with unforgettable views over the course of the Danube.
Return by coach to Vienna at the end of the visits.
Day 4. Sunday 11/04 – The Danube Valley in the Wachau

Day 5. Monday 12/04 – Imperial Tradition and Old Masters

The morning is reserved for one of Vienna's most iconic spectacles: a performance by the Spanish Riding School, an institution founded in the sixteenth century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the absolute benchmark of the classical art of dressage. In the magnificent Baroque riding hall of the Hofburg, the celebrated Lipizaner horses perform high school exercises with a precision and harmony that transform the performance into a true staging of Viennese imperial tradition, where discipline, beauty and historical heritage converge.
Free time for lunch and to enjoy the city at your own pace.
In the afternoon, a visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, one of Europe's great museums, both for the exceptional richness of its collections and for the monumental beauty of its building. Its historicist architecture, ceremonial staircases and richly decorated halls make the museum itself a work of art. Inside, masterpieces by Velázquez, Rubens, Vermeer, Titian and, most notably, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, of whom it holds the most important collection in the world.
Free time at the end of the visit to continue enjoying Vienna: strolling, visiting historic coffeehouses or, for those who wish, attending a concert at the Opera House.
Day 5. Monday 12/04 – Imperial Tradition and Old Masters

Day 6. Tuesday 13/04 – Final Hours and Return to Barcelona

The last day in Vienna. After breakfast we will have a few final free hours to enjoy the city at our own pace: one last stroll, one last visit, one more coffee in one of Vienna's legendary coffeehouses.
Around midday we depart by coach to the airport to board Vueling flight VY8715 at 14:45, with an expected arrival in Barcelona at 17:15. A cultural journey to Vienna that will have traversed six centuries of history, art and beauty in just six days.
Day 6. Tuesday 13/04 – Final Hours and Return to Barcelona
